I will be building my own desk soon to go with the layout of my equipment. I currently own:

Fl studio
Mpk 49 usb midi controller
Korg Microkorg synth/midi
Mpd 16 usb midi controller
Korg Kaossilator
Korg Monotron (dont know if this really counts)
M audio Fast track pro
Fostex powered rca monitors
Condensor Microphone
Presonus Comp16 (all 3 of these units are mounted in a mini rack type thing)
Presonus EQ3B
Presonus TubePre (with +48V)
2 channel dj mixer
Numark tt200

And im looking to buy a mixing board next.

I would like to know in what order should my equipment be set up in, and is it really neccesary to have both a dj mixer and a mixing board, or would the mixing board replace the need of the dj mixer?

What are you trying to record? How many separate tracks at the same time? Basic chain would be: instrument/mic > M Audio Fast Track Pro > computer. Plug monitors into the M Audio.

Add Tube Preamp, etc between the mic and the M Audio, if/when needed.

I record vocals for hip hop music, i will also need to record my microkorg and turntable when sampling vinyl. Once in a while i play around with guitars and other inputs, but never really all at the same time. And if my monitors are plugged to my m audio would the sound from my turntable or microkorg synth play when my DAW is closed? Or would something like a mixing board cure that?
