First of all, I just want to say that you guys are great! There's alot of great info out here and as a novice recorder I really appreciate it...

Now to my problem. I've recently purchased some gear to start doing some samll scale home production/advancable to home recording. I've been trying to get everything to work, but I am having the damndest time getting the connections to work. If anyone can tell me the beast (easiest) way to route my equipment I would be quite greatful:

ASR-10 master)
MPC-2000 (slave)
Emu 1212m Sound card
(1/4" ins/outs left and Right, 1 midi in/out, 1 s/pdif in/out)
Eurorack UB802 (8 input 2 bus)
Stereo Tuner (Good One)
CD Player (ASR Sample)
Record Turntable (ASR Sample)

Emu provided Cubasis VST4, which I know is crappy, but it should suffice while I'm on my learning curve.

Look forward to your help.

Well its kind of hard to do it over the internet, but i will git it a try.

You hook everything up to your computer. :D

ok seriously, route all your audio to the emu 1212,and if you get everything hooked up right with audio, then stat hooking up midi.If you have more than one midi instrument, then use "midi through" to get the linked up.The best thing you could do is read all of the instruction manuals, and do one at a time.

Hope that helps bro!

Studio SETUP

If your using a computer for your master workstation hook it up like this:

CPU (Emu 1212m Sound card
(1/4" ins/outs left and Right, 1 midi in/out, 1 s/pdif in/out)
ASR-10 Master Keyboard (the midi out goes into your soundcard midi in)

Eurorack UB802 (8 input 2 bus)
Emu 1212m Sound card (THE 1/4 OUTPUTS GO INTO THE MIXER LINE IN)
Stereo Tuner (Good One)----CONNECT THE MIXER MAIN OUTS TO TUNER INPUTS-THEN TUNER TO SPEAKERS
CD Player (if this is a recorder, hook it up to the mixer tape send and return)
Record Turntable (ASR Sample)-----THIS GOES INTO YOUR EURORACK LINE INPUTS

MPC-2000 (slave)
Now use you master keyboard (ASR) to control the MPC via the midi thru on from the ASR to the MPC in. You can always import you audio into your cpu later

I recomend getting a midi sport 4x4 or 8x8 midi interface later...
And get a patch bay so you can patch stuff latter...

GOOD LUCK :D

Ya, that's pretty much it. Then you hook all your other hardware audio outs to the mixer. Have your mixer outs go to your tuner and speakers and there you go. If your using your CD player/recorder to burn CDs, hook it to your tape send and returns. Otherwise you can burn CDs on your computer. That should do it. :D Sorry for all the writing on how to hook the studio up before. I always seem to do that. You put it simple and best.

You have all the equipment that I don't have, but hang in there "You'll get it"!!

Fot it all right. I just can't seem to get the ASR to trigger the MPC. I've got running through the THRU port but I can't figure out how to set it to local...any help?
