Can anyone recommend a good soundcard that will work with vista? It doesn't appear that M-Audio will offer Vista drivers anytime soon for the 2496 card I currently use.

Only Motu and RME have released Vista drivers at this point.
A better question would be why you are using Vista? At this point in time it makes no sense whatsoever to use Vista in DAW enviroment...

I read in another thread that you jumped on board with Vista last fall...
Personally, I would've waited if you're thinking about doing some serious recording. You're probably not going to be able to make a "budget" investment on a new card (same range as the 2496). I do know that RME, Motu and Echo Audio have drivers. Maybe look at the Echo AudioFire interfaces. They are firewire and come in a few flavors - 2, 4, 8 and 12. I use a Echo Layla 3G (PCI) and love it.

Echo cards have Vista drivers and are working great here on Ultimate.
