Neck question

I'm about to spray a neck I'm going to use for a project I'm working on, but was wondering if the fretboard (it's ebony) gets sprayed also. I'm thinking not, but of course I could be wrong that's why I'm asking. (I'm using polyurethane spray, and yes I know about the other options available to finish the neck, but this is what works for me.) Thanks!

no I' don't think you spray the fretboard 0- infact i'm pretty damn sure you dont

If you're gonna do it....do it right.

tape off the face of the fingerboard. The sides of the fingerboard get finished, the face does not. Unless you are doing a maple board, in which case it all gets finished, and you just have to keep the frets clean (which is a major PITA, by the way).
