nearly cubasis illiterate

Just thought I'd ask here if anyone can help me get started with cubasis. I got the program with my sound card (good), I have a MIDI keyboard, mics, and guitar w/ pickups (good), but I can't get cubasis to record or even pick up any of them (bad). I haven't been able to find any info on basic setup; everything always assumes that part has been done. Thx

Poke around on the TASCAM website, several of their interfaces come with Cubasis, and there is a manual in PDF form on their website.

I know how you feel...

You've gotta search, search & search for info., help & guidelines. Try everything, but don't forget the Golden Rule - always backup work when you're learning. The Delete option is always there.

I've had a look for a good Discussion Group on Cubasis for you, but no luck, at least for anything well-organised. Have a look in all the Cubase & MIDI Discussion Groups - some of them have Cubasis sections.

And, as Strryder says, try to get the manuals. You could even use Cubase manuals as a basis for general advice, but go for versions 3x & 5x, not Cubase SX, as that is a totally different kind of interface.
