I'll be there
I was wondering if I could track my 50 w combo against a pair of monitors. Right now I'm using an old fubarred 200 w stereo into some cheapy radio scrap speakers. It doesn't work too bad but the amp has been toast for a long time and the sound isn't great. The biggest problem I have is doing some takes and then carting my system back to my computer desk only to find that the guitar was recorded to thin or too fat etc...after it sounded fine in my "studio". The system just doesn't have the required clarity.
Solution
Buy a pair of 50watt near field monitors with built in amps and use them for monitors while I'm laying down guitar tracks (this is all sequenced rythm btw).
Will they have the beef to take on my 50w tube amp? I like playing loud, but not that loud. Is this a real bad idea for some reason I'm not aware of?
Thanks
Doug
