Hey i just heard about nashville tuning or stringing ,anyway ,they said you take th high strings from a 12 string pack an tune ur sixer with them ......just wonderin if anyone uses this ,sounds like it would be really high pitch ...well just thought i would ask

I've been wanting to try it. The Smiths used it alot.

You don't have to buy a 12 string set and waste half the strings. Most music stores will let you buy individual strings. What ever gauge you use,buy 2 Ds,2 Gs and 2 high Es.Put a G on the low E slot,B on the A slot and E on the D slot.
And then you have to learn the Nashville number system of reading charts...(just kidding!)
good luck

Not really a higher pitch... just missing the lower pitches. Nashville tuning is great for fingerstyle. Bill Mize and Ed Gerhard do a great duet on "Tender Explorations".

When I use the plastic Macciferri I have set up as a high string, I try to have it do what the rhythm guitar doesn't. So if the rhythm guitar is a fingerstyle, then the high string strums, or the other way around. Chorus is a good added effect in the mix.
