OK, now I'll stump you!

Who was BLT?

They made 2 great albums in 1981, and they surely were not obscure, unknown hacks.

BLT, who can tell me?

I read every goddam page on this fuckin thread,...

no, it's a great thread, but my fuckin eyes hurt now!

I saw mentioned some of my favorites:
Be Bop Deluxe,
Traffic,
Kraftwerk,
Uriah Heep,
Robin Trower.
Cream,
Yardbirds,
Zombies,
Animals,
Black Flag
Ramones
FOGHAT
Jethro Tull
C.C.R .
B.T.O.
Alice Cooper
Definitely great bands, definitely some of my favorites, but hardly obscure.

Then, I saw a few that really 'almost' jogged my memory, like:
Status Quo
Climax Blues Band
Head East
That's pretty darn obscure, for sure.

I, myself, layed a few 'choice' obscure bands on you, not previously mentioned:
-"X"-
Gary Myrick & the Figures
Ian Dury & the Blockheads
I'm obscure, it's true.

On this whole thread, no one mentioned:
Blue Oyster Cult,
The Minutemen,
or even the Pretenders!
Not Yet Mentioned... Reel scores again!

Ok, I'm waiting, who was BLT? I guess that's obscure, but the members were not really obscure at all, really.

Fame & obscurity are funny, sometimes someone can be both, famous and obscure at the same time. No one on this BBS, though, were definitely all obscure.

Twist

Hey, not before I answer the question

The Legendary Christine Perfect (guess who?)

Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac, in her pre-Mac days...

Someone or ones have to compile a list without repeats, sheet, I'm probably repeating myself half the time. I could name all kinds of obscure 50's groups like the Jive Five and lots of one hit wonders, but I'm probably repeating myself. Any volunteers for list making. Probably 99% of the bands listed on this page have allready been mentioned and since when is Led Zepplin obscure?
May the forces that be and all of creation help us.

You are correct AlChuck! Did you use a lifeline?

How about Gil Scott Heron - Winter in America

Great stuff!

Good list, you guys [gals]!

Sure, quite a lot of the bands mentioned already are really not obscure at all. I tried to make that point, about 10 pages ago!

Sure, you have not seen the Beatles, Stones, Led Zeppelin or Jimi Hendrix Experience, until now, because these bands are not obscure at all! These bands and a lot of others on this list are not obscure, really, and they still enjoy daily radio airplay.

----------

OK, B.L.T: Jack Bruce, Bill Lordan, Robin Trower!

They made 2 albums in 1981: Robin Trower: BLT, and
Robin Trower/Jack Bruce: Truce. Both are excellent albums.
Then I guess they disbanded, but a compilation CD was issued, called "Robin Trower/Jack Bruce: No Stopping Any Time.

It's some goooood stuff, go check it out! Maybe next week BLT and TRUCE will be on CD...

Come on, record industry hacks, get busy!!!!! Jack Bruce/Robin Trower!

Jamie Brockett - The Legend of the Titanic. The TRUE story of how the Titanic really sunk. An epic saga in the tradition of Alices' Restaurant.

Twist

Here's a couple for Billy Joel fans

Way back before Billy Joel's solo career he was in a couple of obscure bands.
"Attila" was one of them, "The Hassles" was the other.
This was back when he was just trying to make it into the business.
One of them was him on keys, a guitarist, and a drummer.
The other, I think, was just him and a drummer. I'm not sure which is which.

The stuff'll give you a major headache but Holy Shitzus is Billy Joel awsome!!!
He did some distorted organ stuff that made you not even miss the guitar. (sorry, it's true.)

the proclaimers were cool. I never heard the rest of their songs but apparently they were a more serious folky style, much more seriuos than the singles....

how long is this thread wooooooohh hhooooo;)
:p

All of Robin Trower's albums kick ass.

Especially the old ones, with James Dewar on bass/vocal. This classic Robin Trower lineup has many great albums. I don't know one that's not great.

Jack Bruce on bass/vocals still definitely kick ass. The 2 albums Jack Bruce, Bill Lordan & Robin Trower made, kick ass, definitely.

The latest albums are still great, Robin Trower's playing is great, but their vocalist isn't as strong as the previous 2.

Robin Trower does kick ass. He's a classic.

That supergroup from the 2000's; " Lackluster" and their smash hit "Grime".

Hix,

That's pretty obscure, man.

Score another one for Hixmix.
