So let's add the Michael Schenker Group to the list...
 
Nectar........good call.There were a few bands doing the prog-rock thing,and they were one of them.There was another Emerson,Lake & Palmer style band from Germany (I think) called Triumvirat (sp).Anyone remember them? Their album covers always had a little white rat on them.keys,bass,and drums.
Hydra was another obscure gem.......how about White Witch? Or Gypsy? Joy of Cooking?
 
Well Tweed, since you broke thru with the keys, bass, & drum thing on the guitar & bass page, how about one of my all time favorites--- Quatermass.

Or....Thin Lizzy? I mentioned this one before,but does anyone remember a band called Flash? They were formed by the original Yes guitarist,Peter Banks.Basically,they were a keyboardless Yes (keys,bass...Rickenbacker,of course.drums.guitar and vocals),although Tony Kaye (original Yes KB player) would play on some songs.I had 3 of their albums.
 
Yep, Flash and Yes were my favs in the mid seventies.

Anyone remember a band called Silver Meter (or maybe Metre)? One of the coolest album covers ever. They were probably the most obscure thing in my collection. Damn! What the hell happened to some of my albums?Now I'm pissed! I"ll bet my brother stole them from me, and sold them for dope money!

Twist........I CANNOT believe you mentioned Silver Metre.I thought a friend of mine and I were the only people on earth who had ever heard of them! I bought their album in the cutouts because they looked like rockers on the cover.....there is one song on there that is sooooooooo dissonant,that to this day we still have good laughs about it.Part of the chorus went.."Looking for a tutor,I don't need no computer..." It was almost a 1-4-5 blues thing,but with b5 diminished chords.By the way,the bass player was Pete Sears,who went on to play with Jefferson Starship.I have never seen another copy of this album.This is truly unbelievable.
By the way.........my copy is gone too.
"Panama Red" was done by The New Riders of the Purple Sage.Good one.Has anyone ever heard of the album Old And In The Way?

I hear 10CC are still going .I heard a song called 'ready to go home' or something like that about 18 months ago. It was off there new album
 
Old and In The Way was out of print for awhile,and then I found it on CD...way cool.
I heard a Jo Jo Gunne song the other day that they did in '95.It had some really tasty slide work on it.They had done a reunion album that year,but because of one reason or another (read my lips...red tape) it wasn't released.I found it on one of their websites.
How far do we go back on this thread? Dare we hit the '60s? As in Moby Grape,Electric Prunes,ect?
There was another band ('70s,I think) called Toe Fat.

We keep old albums around our media center to test equipment.
Came across an Electric Prunes album, them doing the Mass in F minor.
Complete with Latin text and all.
Quite interesting.
