Name this echo unit!

I have an old echo unit where the only things visible from the name is: "Analog Echo Unit, EC400" and "****er"...

It has 4 knobs: Volume, Balance, Repeat and Delay, and 1 button named "Output level" switchable between 0dB and -20dB.

Pretty standard really, I know, but I want to know who made it...

A quick google search turned up only one response that seems related - a list of gear at a studio including a JB System EC400 analog echo. So that's probably it but not definitely...

Last hit says "JB Systems" hence it's a JB Systems EC400. They must be very obscure. I've think I have seen one earlier reference to an JB Systems tape echo, but that's it.

maybe it is so obscure because it was custom-made for James Brown...... probably not though glad to be of any assistance!
