Nady wireless kit squashing the sound?

So, a few years ago, I got given a nady wireless setup. I'm real happy with the range and performance of it and everything, but i use it with an electric violin w/ an L.R. Baggs pickup, a Norman 12 string guitar, and a 6 string Epiphone Sheraton II semiacoustic. After a while, I kind of got the nagging feeling that the wireless box was squishing the sound down, or cutting out some of the frequencies, but I can't swear to it as I've never sat down and run all-out tests. It's a Nady LT-ST transmitter, with a 101XL receiver.

Am I right in thinking the possibility is definitely there about this tho? Appreciate any insights...

Yes- the signal is compressed at the transmitter end, expanded at the receiver end to restore some dynamics. A less expensive wireless won't compress or expand as well.

For a guitar piping into effects pedals, being distorted and overdriven, etc, I can see how this wouldn't be too much of an issue. Any suggestions on a wireless kit for fully acoustic instruments?
