Have used N-track for about a year without problems but recently checked out CEP. Which is better, CEP seems to have a heap more options. Cost is not an object.

I've not checked out CEP since the release of version 2.0. I ditched CEP 1.2 for N-track.

n-track rocks

but so does cool edit pro

hmmmmm i'd choose Cool Edit Pro if I didn't have technical problems with it, BUT for now, N-track ;)

CEP doesn't support VST. I use enough VST that any non-VST app is out of the question. Your requirements of course may differ! n-Track supports VST (and ASIO...I don't understand these anti-steinberg apps!)

N-Track is very good for the price

Cool Edit Pro 2 is more expensive but it has heaps more features

If price isn't important than I would go with Cool Edit Pro 2

What are the "heaps more features" of CEP? I'm not being defensive, I'm just curious as I've never used it. User to user, what are the benefits of CEP over n-Track besides (I HOPE) stability? Do you think these benefits warrant 4X the cost to the average home recorder?
