PVC sounds better than aluminium due to the peaky resonances inherent in the metal. As to the "warming quality" of particleboard....I think I prefer accuracy to artificial warming if it's all the same to you.

The basic job of a cabinet, at least in traditional speaker design, is to be dense and not leak, so as to not impact the speaker design parameters. If a manufacturer has gone the route of resonant speaker cabinets, well that is somewhat novel; it could be brilliant, it could suck, it could be an excuse to cut shipping costs :confused: hard to know until the box is tested in the real world.
