Just to set the record straight......

The Goldmine Standard Catalog of American Records 1950 to 1975 has "My Sweet Lord" listed as 1970 (they don't print months), but they do print all the dates it was released or re-released, and 1970 is the date. It was a 3 record set in a box (unheard of at that time). The 45 came out the same year/backed with "Isn't It A Pity".


Moral......"Don't believe everything you see on the internet"

OK, a brief look say that it was #1 for the first few weeks of 71, and was on the charts for 14 weeks. When did a kid in Boston hear it on his radio? I dunno.:D

The point:

of all the lawsuits I have heard of (Huey Lewis/Ray Parker etc), this one to me is the one that is a slam dunk.
