Gabriel,
You said, "And they want the 8.1 back before they ship out the 8.2 even though it was their error. Mabe it's time to stop using these guys."
Damn skippy it's time to stop using them.
Get on the phone and explain to them that you'll send the wrong ones back when your new ones arrive. Tell them you are sitting ready to kick off a brand new CD project and were only waiting for your monitors to arrive. Now they're costing you 2 weeks of downtime and you need to be compensated with something credited back to your account. (ie: partial refund). Also ask them how you should explain this to your client from whom you've already received a substantial deposit. Tell them you arn't really are wanting to give them a bad name with your client but that you're being forced to (due to the 2 week downtime) if they don't make things right.
If that doesn't work, tell them you'll send the wrong ones (remember,
their mistake!) and they can refund all your money (including your shipping on the original order) so you can buy them from a more reputable establishment. They ain't the only ones schlepping shit on the internet.
And then, if you've still got any breath left, tell 'em to go butt a stump!
At 52, I never back down until I get what I want from whomever. Eat them or they will eat you.
Best of luck!!!
