catchy, and kind of violent :) -- the pan on the steel drum is a little distracting with headphones, but pretty much works anyway.
 
Narrower steel drums panning'd be good.
You ought do a C&W version of this too - a bit like Put Another Log On the Fire.

What a blast! What does it's success say about people? It says that lots of us have felt this but not had the nerve to say it. So we at least appreciate you saying it for us!

I guess that the tune must hit a nerve with people. I think that they must search for the term "Breakup" or something, find the piece ... listen, and then buy it.

I've had a least 60 purchases thru various online vendors ... and TONS of paid listens. (All in all ... it's got to be at least $50 ... so the album is now only hundreds and hundreds of dollars away from breaking even!)

It's just that it took me all of three minutes fucking around with midi to throw it together ... which also probably ranks it as my "least paid attention to" piece of work ... which creates the obvious irony ...

It's funny too ... because this was only a bonus track from the album. I'd assembled 11 tunes, and then I threw two midi pieces on the end ... just because I didn't know what else to do with them and thought, "Eh ... let's throw a couple quick midi novelty knock offs on for good measure" ... "You Monkeys" being the other (which hasn't sold a single unit) ... and "The Breakup Song" winds up outselling everything else BY FAR so far.

Weird how things work.
