My Tascam Portastudio DP-1FX/CD won't start up.

My Tascam Portastudio DP-1FX/CD will not start up. The message that I get is as follows: No CD DRU:80, Please PWR Off. What I've found out so far is that the Tascam has timed out while waiting for the drive to spin up. The drive motor is not getting the correct amount of power. I've checked the power source and it seems to be fine. Also I was told to purchase a new power adaptor that is 12 volt, 2.5 amps which is 2500 ma.

Can anyone help me on how to solve my problem?
