My Syd Barrett tribute tune

Hi everyone

To mark the passing of Syd barrett last year i thought i'd have a go at a couple of syd like tunes in tribute to a musical hero of mine, here's a link to pt 2, very much influenced by early floyd especially "interstellar overdrive".

Thoughts and opinions on the (very abstract!!) tune, sound and mix would be very gratefully appreciated.

I used a Presonus Firebox into a p4 pc

Cool tune. I like it. I really like the phaser-ed guitar sound. I am not very familiar with Syd's work, and I thought this piece had alot of hints of modern surf-rock along the lines of Man or Astro-Man?

on the critique side, i think the lead guitars could be more in front

Thanks for listening and for the advice , i stumbled on the guitar sound by messing with the rotary controls and settings on my pod, the rest i just tried to capture the floyd sound from back then and syd's slide sound, i dunno how successful i was but it was a fun tune to make

Sounds a lot like the 1st lp or 2 by the Cure.
Try singing So What over a couple of lines.
That said I liked that era Cure best & like this track as well.
I can feel the Syd in it too.
Bass needs some more definition & one of the guitars - the R one I think - should get some prom.

Thanks for the advice, and im glad you liked the tune , its defintely one i will go back to at some point for a remix and mayb add a few things to aswell!!!.
