ok heres what i got
the room is about 15 X15 or 15X16... high open cealings..
since this is the drum forum i was wondering what the best way to record the drums would be.. we are a hard rock metal group... we would like to record all at once (the music) then add vocals later.. what ideas would you have as far as isolating the drums from the sounds of our amps?? and what micing situations would you suggest? im kinda low on mics right now
i have one SM57 some EV mic. and a instrument mic that will snap on to any drum. any suggestions on placement of the mics?? or anythin to make the drums sound heavyer or just more crisp for the recording..
i just need to know it all!
Each carpeted rehearsal room has double 5/8 sheetrock on both sides of the common walls, fiberglass batt insulation, and one inch of bonded sound board on three walls. This means there is a 7 3/4" wall between you and any other rehearsal room!! High ceilings make even our smaller rooms feel big, and provide you with the proper ambience you need.
