I have a Peavey diaphram mic (set to -10dB...and the direction seems to make no difference) hooked using XLR to a Behringer Eurorack MX802A mixer running (via a 1/4" L and 1/4" R to 1/8" stereo cable) into my Turtle Beach SantaCruz soundcard. It doesn't seem to matter what software I use (Soundforge, Cakewalk, Acid Pro 4.0, etc)...I always get a low volume recording on the mic (READ: doesn't really get the inflection or depth of my voice...sounds "thin"). The software always says the audio is clipping. How do I need to set the mic and mixer up to get a more full recording? If you want to hear an example of what I'm talking about, go to my website (philwages.com and click on "Music") and listen to some of my MP3s (some are better than others, but that is from digitally adjusting the volume). Any help is certainly appreciated! Phil
