You will be very happy with it, i use a C-1

jimistone, the right way to handle gear purchases with your spouse is to buy the rnc yourself and expect to get yelled at for a little while, than tell her I would rather have you get me a rnmp for xmas.Works for me all year long...:D

WAY WAY smaller that I had expected. This unit is tiny.
I retracked some guitar parts and then retracked a bass part though the DI about an hour ago. The preamps before were Mackie VLZ-Pro.
The difference when I A/B is very significant. THere is a clarity and "biggness" that did not exist before.
Me likes. :)
Bugger gets warm, too.
Switches are kinda tight, but feel of good quality.
What I dont like... the outputs A and B on the back dont line up with inputs A and B on the front. They are backwards. Kinda weak.
More to follow, including some actual wav files when I finish something up.
I think I'll buy another one. Well worth the wait and the price already, and I've used it for an hour.
Keep in mind I'm one picky bastard.

Tube:

Do you think you can post the same song done by Mackie pres and RNP whenever you finish them?
Appreciated :)

let's see:

"Dear, I ordered my Christmas present today...its a RNP--which means Real Nice Microphone Pre-amp. Its the last piece of gear I will ever need, too."

Something like that, ya think will do the trick?

Great News

Tube,
That is great news. I have one on the way due to me by tomorrow. I also am upgrading from my mackie vlz pro, and am hoping for a significant difference. I record mainly Acoustic type music, looking for a more 3-D sounstage.
I'll also try posting some A/B comparisons. I'm right in the beginning stages of an album project (3 songs recorded) so I am going to try to convince the band to retrack at least one song(of course at no charge) just to see the difference.

You will experience a better soundstage, yes.
Use good mics, get yourself a couple if you dont already have a few. Neumann or Sennheiser small dia. or something similar. Very important.
Peace!

Oh, now he tells us! Good mics?! Ya mean the mighty RNP won't make my computer headset mic sound like a Neumann? What about that microphone modeling software then?
