I am nowhere near buying (or being able to afford) all of the gear that I want, but I like compiling lists of things that I want to try.
So Im working on a list of rack effects right now.
Im stumped for brands and models to check out for these items. Suggestions and experience?
1. Gate
2. Limiter
3. EQ

Ill be the first to admit naivete with these genre's of processors. I know what they do, but have no hands on experience with them.
Thanks in advance
Todd

Also, (apart from the lexicon models) what are some good all around multi-effects processor units, in the $300-$1000 range.
Thanks again,
Todd

to make it more respondable: Does anybody here own a gate? or a limiter? or an eq unit? and do you like it?

Ive come to the realization as well that gates and limiters can also be part of compressor units (I think), so if any of you have the multi units, what are they and how do they work for you. :)
Thanks,
Todd

As a gate and a limiter, I don't think you can get much better for the money than the Behringer Composer Pro. It is more than usable - it's pretty good and costs next to nothing It's also a damn nice compressor.

I agree. For $100, the Composer Pro is great.
It is very clean and has been reliable for me. Very flexible also.

I concur on the Composer Pro, but for $80 more, an RNC is also an excellent comp'er also!

Investigate the TC M-1, great 'Verb efx with adjustable parameters for precise incremental control over each effect.

My rack wish list is 4 of everything Fletcher has!

Peace,
Dennis

Sure, for $80 more, the RNC is a "gotta have". I use my RNC's much more than the Composer Pro.

Thanks to all who posted. Ive read all about the RNC as a compressor and its been on my wish/try list for quite some time. Ive also checked out the Jo meek MQ3's, which I liked. Ive looked at the roland srv 3030 as a reverb unit , and I liked it alot. The lexicons seem to have alot of effects for the price, and I will check out the TC units and the DBX units. Im just at a loss for gates, limiters and EQ units. Composer sounds like its worth checking out for the dollar value.
Does anyone here use an EQ rack unit as an outboard effect?
Thanks again,
Todd

I have a Dbx 286. It's solid state, but has a pre, compressor, limiter/gate, de-esser and high and low enhancement.
