hungovermorning

Dr. Caveman.
Okay, so I recently got a Beyerdynamic Soundstar MKII mic and it came DOA (vintage mics, not a huge surprise). Anyways, it feels like the capsule is loose when you shake it. This is one of the few mics I have that feels like it's worthy of repair. Suggestions? Does anyone do this? Sorry for teh silly question, usually 1. mics don't break and 2. if they do, they're generally not worth repairing.

cheers,
scott

Other than contacting Beyer I don't have any recommendations.

The Soundstar MKII is one of my fave mics. I wish Beyer would start making them again.

Too bad. That's a nice mic. I'd see what Beyer would charge. Unfortunately, the price of repairs for small electronics is so high relative to their cost that it's rarely worth it to get them repaired. You might also check locally with a pro sound vendor and see who does repairs in your area.
