alright.
so i'm buying a computer (ordering the parts from newegg.com next weekend)...and my friend is putting it together for me.
total 600-700 bucks.

then, here is where i dont know what to do.

i can get a delta 44, off ebay, for around 150 (thats my guess of where the auction might end at).
or i can get a delta 66/omni off ebay, for 300-350 (my guess where the auction would end)...and included is some software that i probably wont even use, and 8 1/4" cords.

what do you suggest!

i also want to buy a pair of mxl 603s (which will come out to about 180-190 from 8th street.)

with all that in mind, i would like to keep it all under 1000...

so basically, what is SO MUCH betteyr about the omni/66 that i would need to spend much more for?

i have a mixer right now (beheringer 802a)...which i will use most often the pre's off of it. and i have some other mixers and such that i may be combining to use pre's with if needed...just old tascam casette 4tracks, etc.

i highly doubht i would use the spdif things (digital in/out)..because i have nothing that would connect to it as of now...
but i'm thinking i'd love the omni pre's, extra ins/outs, and then again 8 1/4" cords...lol.

help me out here...i dont know what to do...lol anyone wanna give me an extra 200ish? haha.

delta66 has s/pdif. and can be chained with others, while the delta 44 cannot.

yes, that is what i've been told. The delta66's you can use more than one on a machine. The delta44 you cannot. I called M-audio when I was considering purchasing the delta44 or delta 66. I asked what was the differerence and that is what they told me.
