rock guy
So i've posted a few things before....i just recorded this today, I think I got a pretty nice mix outta it for what i was going for!

tell me what ya think :)

this really makes me want to get in an old cutlass and slap around some hoes. this is groovin hardcore. :D good job man. can't comment on mix cause ears are shot but i dig the tune. this is what porn music would sound like if steve vai had anything to do with it. especially the ending.

...something is needed in the kick, tightness..
Very nice bass-sound, guitars are a tad "thin".. could put some more in-your-face-ness in them IMO..
But on the whole, sounds good, nice tune.:D

This song rocks! good stuff! great mix! My only nit is the hh or ride kind of sticks out every once in while. Other than that, I love the pop on the snare, awesome rocking guitar solo! Thumbs up!

thanks guys =) ive got to learn howto mix lol like seriously ugh. my guitars always sound tinny, and i have no idea howto make them sound awesome. i use an AKG d1120 or something (cant remember exact name now) to capture the room ambiance, and the sm57 on 1 of the 4 speakers of my jcm2000 cab. but it awlways sounds tinny! arghhh

I LIKE THE FUNK!:D

How did you mix this? What were you listening with?

Don't take it critically but I listened to it on my monitors and had a short list of suggestions after the second or third listen. None were serious but just suggestions then for grins I put on the head phones and the thing sounded kick-ass!

Just currious.

hey, any advice is needed here. im not big budget or anything so what i do is i record straight into my laptop from my samson mixing board. i listen to how THAT sounds via headphones...theyre nothing special at all, probably not even good headphones. then when im all done, i go upstairs and mix it in adobe audition 1.5 on my dell desktop...i mix through again, crappy headphones and my dell speakers...i dont have monitors..i use the speakers to get a general idea of how a song will sound through a 2.1 system with a subwoofer, then i use the headphones to like finely mix the guitar levels or panning and whatnot, then i listen through speakers again to see if it still holds a decent 2.1 sound. i would love to hear any suggestions you had though! it's really hard for me to get a good drum sound i think, as im sitting there behind my drums, blasting the headphones so i hear that over my actual drums you know? and its hard to get a good kick sound, i thought i FINALLY got a good one with this song, because if you listen to the part towards the beginning when its just bass, drums, and those guitar chords are struck, i think the mids come through the speakers awesomley to get the big room sound of my kick fromt he overheads, and then the low end comes through the sub...however once guitar comes in, you don't really hear that as well. i love that part just because i think the drums sound awesome, but then it all goes to shit hahaha but yeah again, any suggestions you guys have for better mixing i NEED to hear lol

Sounds pretty cool...Just wondering what your using for effects...i hear a wah in there and perhaps some type of fuzz of some sort...perhaps a hendrix or dunlop product...Octavio maybe or the Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Classic Fuzz...just guessing at this point...cool sound you got going there though.

was that one sentence or two?

Bottom line, you've got a pretty cool recording Take the CD out to the car, listen to it on the home stereo or even the pc speakers. Listen to your favorite tune then compare your mix to how ite sounds.

Really, it's a cool package but sounds a bit like a headphone mix me.

Nice tracks!

Yeah, headphones for listening for/to details. Monitors to mix with flat response, car, stereo, boombox, MP3 player, Discman sub woofer enhanced system for references.
The music is good, the mix is missing bottom end for me and some presence 9 the non muddy mids freq's). The crash cymbal seems a little outside the mix. have you thrown anything across the final mix to give it a chensive element?
Good work mate, but get yourself something to mix from so it'll be fanbloodymazing!

=) thanks guys! maybe it is time to invest in monitors....haha. anyway, vincent what i used on the main guitar was my digitech whammy set to octave below+normal, with a dunlop 535q wah on the neck single coil of my strat. the 2nd guitar is just wah with the gain lower on the amp on the bridge single coil. chords ringing during that one part have my boss chorus on, along with a 5th above on the whammy. solo is the +2 octave setting on the whammy with boss delay. all that was recorded and mic'ed out of my marshall jcm2000 4x12 stack. bass was actually a mix of mic'ing my sunn 4x15 stack and direct out. mic'ed with an sm 57 lol picked up the mids well, obvioulsy no low end, but thats what the direct out was for. played my G&L L2000 through it.
