I am chuffed with my new Zoom 1044, but straight away have encountered a problem. Please forgive my ignorance, I write songs, I am not a Record Producer (but I would like to be one): When using my Yamaha PSR630 keyboard to record, it gives off an annoying sort of hiss/surf sound with certain voices - especially piano voices. How can I overcome this problem?

Bazza.

Let me guess

There are built in speakers and the only output jack on this keyboard is for head phones (phono out).

Am I right?

These PSR keyboards are not designed to be seriously recorded. That's why they have built in speakers.

They're for practice and portability.

I'm sure you paid a lot for this thing, but it's not a prosumer item.

Get something else (with line out phono outputs).
