It was just some constructive criticism! If you can't take a little criticism, then don't ask for comments.
As far as flash goes, some people like it and some people don't.
I think its a little over-used myself.
One of the drawbacks of it is having to wait for it to load, especially if the user is on dial-up.

I understand this is a work in progress, so here goes:

I thought the font in the window was too small; makes it hard to read.
I found myself trying to chase around the moving bullets to the other pages.
I didn't see any pics of the studio. It might be nice to include some.
I thought the intro looked pretty cool, and it implementation is effective.
Nice choice on the background music, it should appeal to a wide range of people.
All in all I thinks its pretty darn good. There's a few little quarks that could use some fine tuning.

As far as the Seifer thing goes, he can go to hell. He never has anything but garbage spewing forth from his racist mouth.



You on the other hand, are right. The font is too small. I am planning on some actual studio pictures but I have to clean up first. Unlike some people, I use my studio :D Not making reference to you of course.

The load time for this is pretty small. I'm on 128K ISDN at work and it only took about 5-6 seconds to load. That should equate to 10-12 tops on a 56k dial-up. And you get to watch the cool meter charge up. :cool:
 
I'm a database programmer in the real world. I sit around and make websites all day. All good websites are made with HTML and PHP or a similar scripting language. Flash is off limits unless a client specifically asks for an ugly website that takes forever to load and doesn't work right for most people.

Just giving you a heads up BRO - nobody likes flash.
 
I thought it was pretty good, but I was disappointed there were no pics of your studio.

I was clicking on your links and reading and had my Yorkvilles turned up pretty good.....after a few minutes my wife appeared at the door and said, "Your shaking the house".....she was in the front yard trying to figure out where the car was parked that was playing the thumpin music.....lol..

I've done alot of websites but I've never used flash because I'm too lazy to learn it.....vbg
 
maybe you should consider an option to turn the music off. got boring after chasing the buttons for 30 minutes. which brings me to another point, make the buttons stationary...

I don't think my website is ugly by any means. It's better than that butt-ass-fuckin ugly piece of racial garbage of a website you had. Notice I say HAD. And I'm sorry, a 5 second load time is not bad by any means.

I don't believe for one second that you have any type of programming knowledge or a job in the IT industry. My guess is you are at best, a 17 year old flunky, wannabe script kiddie who thinks he can play guitar.

Like I asked you before, put up or shut the fuck up. Lets see some of your work asshole. Lets hear some of this great music you claim you create (besides your crappy 2 chord ass song)

Clicking the little meters at the top turns the music off. I should label it as such.

clicking on the blinky led meter thing at the top of the page stops the music.

pretty nice site, HangDawg. but i agree that you should put some pics of your studio up. ;)

Hey HangDawg - It's looking good, but I agree with some of the comments (not seifers don't worry :D )

The font needs to be bigger for your text and I find the bouncing balls a little annoying. Maybe you could replace them with music notes or something.

I'd like to see some pictures also. Didn't I read somewhere that you switched from HR624's to some Studio Precision 8's ? If so we need to talk cause I'm debating between both of those monitors. :)

Do you have a degree in Design (Graphic or Web) or work in that area? If not, watch what you say. Your site definetly needs work. There is such a thing as getting too cutesy and just throwing stuff on there because you can. Your "fireworks" on the right hand side of the screen serve no usefull purpose other than to distract whoever is looking at your site. Your bouncing ball navigation buttons are annoying to say the least.

The overall color scheme of the site is too dark and makes for hard reading.

If you can't take criticism, don't ask for people's opinions in a public forum.

I take criticism fine. Just not from assholes like The Seifer. His comments are typically like the ones seen above. He flies in, says a piece of software sucks and gives no benefit to the thread. If he wants to give constructive criticism, by all means he is welcome. If he is going to act like his typical asshole self, he can shut the fuck up.


You are correct on the fireworks. They don't serve any purpose and I was considering getting rid of them to keep the load time short. I like the dark color scheme but I think making the font larger will help with it's readability.

And no, I don't have a degree in Graphic Design. That's why this was done by a professional and not me. I am just editing the source files to change things as I see fit.

I liked it based on what was there today, 5/19/04. Its clean, though it chokes my P200 laptop a bit...

The one thing I would suggest is to have the menu dots stay still. Those of us who are a little slow with the mouse end up a little frustrated.

And having a link to "regular html" pages would be good, not everyone wants to look at flash. I do, because i'm trying to learn flash. What I'm doing thus far is really sad... okay, I lied, extremely sad.

Ignore the repetative music, I just threw a loop I had into the flash playing with the looping timing.

As you can see, I can't draw, or do flash :) I'm really just playing iwth it to become familiar with flash. Not bad for a weeks worth of random experimentation.
