my new tracking room...

Im framing out the walls for my new control and tracking room and after thinking way too much about how to lay it out im stuck on one last thing. The tracking room is 22x12 with 7 foot ceilings and my question is, do i keep it one room or seperate it into 2 different smaller rooms. Whats the possibility of getting a good ambience sound from room mics on drums and guitar amps with this size room? any info or tips would help. thanks

I get good ambience from the bathroom that neighbors the tracking room. I place my AT4050, in omni mode, suspended over the bath tub. Just don't try it after a steamy shower... or during!

I vote for one room. It's far better to have one room that's large enough to have a decent low end, rather than two rooms each too small to sound good.

I'm fortunate to have enough space (the entire basement) to be able to have two rooms. But if I was limited I'd keep it all as one room. I actually have three rooms. A control room, a live room, and a vocal room.
