I finally decided that the Echo Mia soundcard that GC had on sale this month ($99) was a bargain, and would do the job of helping me to put my voice into my computer for VO auditions.
When I am ready (purchase the software, etc) to put it all together, I want some tips on getting to know my new hardware.
Can I install the new card next to my old soundblaster, and continue to let the old card provide a feed for my wimpy little desktop speakers, whose biggest job is to announce "you've got mail"?
My hope is that I can get the computer to recognize the new car as a "recording only" accessory when I do the Vo stuff. Is this possible?
Anything else I should be wary of?
