This morning, a friend asked me to write a song about the BP oil spill in the gulf.

For The Coast

If I said
I'm only one
There's not much I can do
Just another wheel cog
So I'm remaining aloof

For there's no way that I
Can alter God's plans

Then after we've lost it all
Will I be one of the damned?

Who poisoned the seas
Who polluted the air

Stop our incautious slipping
Remembering to take care

We have to clean up our room
Or we can't go outside
It gets constantly filthy
With the waste of mankind

It's doesn't make any sense

To talk paper and coin

When we must keep our room clean

Everything done today ...

This just got picked up for advertising ... but it's not a jingle.
 
That is very true. "We must keep our room clean." I remember that if I kept my room clean I got an allowance of say $10 bucks a week. Let's see how much a week that BP charges us to keep their room clean. (I'm willing to bet it comes out to more than $10 a week). Good song though and awesome voice.
