HI all,

My 12channel 2-bus Eurorack seems to be broken. Specifically, the main bus doesn't seem to be workin. I'm not getting a signal at all but as soon as I press the button activating the second bus (alt 3-4), I get a signal. My computer is working -- I'm getting levels in Logic and MIDI is working as well.

I guess I'm wondering if this is something that happens often, that is, a bus will just give out one day. I haven't done anything differently, I just turned it on and it wasn't working...

I can still track MIDI but recording my vocals is a problem now because I can't record them separately without picking up the MIDI signals. is that right?

if you have any suggestions for a good compact mixer, prefarrably mackie, that would be great...anyhow, sorry for the rambling email.

thanks in advance
Gary

I'm thinking this could be a reason why people bash behringer mixers. As for a small compact mixer, I'd suggest looking into the Alesis 12R. I think the pres are very good for the price (270$) and it's a rack mount mixer, so it takes up very little space. If you're only using the mixer to recrd vocals then you don't need anything like the Alesis. Maybe you could looking into one of those small Spirit mixers.

I second the small Spirit mixers. I think they have the same or similar pres and the Ghost series which, many here swear by. I personally have a Mackie that I would love to get rid of and replace with something else. I would like to replace it with and SSL however, the SSL seems to be just a tad out of my price range. Also, I don't really have enough room for one in my apartment.

One other suggestion. If you got some bucks, look into the TL Audio Tube Tracker. It is an 8 channel tube board that I would bet sounds pretty good. Its just a bit pricey though!.
