My mix (not my song) PLEASE CRITICS!

Is this a 60 second commercial spot? Will there be vocals, or voice over?
Everything sounds fairly well mixed, but maybe my balance is off, but it was panned toward the left (maybe 25-30%) and not much stereo placement (the piano sounded like it was a stereo track). That's okay for a radio or especially in-store advertisement, but if this is to become more than 52 seconds, you might consider some stereo field, as well as 3-D.

Thank you very much!

I know you said don't critique the song. But I thought it moved real well. Cool vibe to it.

In general the mix sounds a bit muffled.

The guitars are missing some of their upper end. I think the gutiar needs to be retracked with some more treble and/or presence.

The cymbals are pretty sizzly, but still missing some upper end. Snare has some good power, but missing a little snap. Try a snare boost at around 5K.

The bass is pretty muddy. Most likely needs a retrack. But if you want, a decent sized cut at around 300hz might not hurt. There is also a boomy frequency somewhere in the 80hz-120hz range.

kick is much too loud.

I thought it was just the tone. If there was a bit more beater, I'd like it better. Too me it just sounded like muddy pressure. After a second listen, I think you're correct, but still I think the sound of the kick is as much to blame.

Thanks for the critics! I got the tracks from a website, so they can't be retracked :P
