granted i have a pretty crappy sound card but is there any reason my line in isnt picking a single thing up? i have a yamaha soundcard.

go into the soundcards mixer by right clickin on the speaker icon and going into recording properties....make sure line in is selected and the fader is up.......

i know i sound stupid but im not that stupid.......i was......but now its really faint to where i cant hear a thing with the fader maxed out....

now go back and do the same thing except go into playback properties and raise those faders all the way.......

a good question to ask would be what are you sending into the line in? it may be something that needs to go into the line in?....

i gots my bass amp plugged into the line in directly from the amps line out. i have those faders raised....

ok, that is the way to go.....what software are you using to record?

cubasis 2.0

im already familiar with most of the stuff u siad. im having problems getting a decent volume cuz i have the line in maxed out and its still really faint. on the microphone port however its fine.

im not too familiar with cubasis 2.0...is there any meters to show if you are getting a good signal going in.....you'll want to get a pretty hot signal, close to 0db but dont go over it......

and does raising the volume on the amp help any?.....

im aware of that and im not getting in which is the problem.... im only getting around -30 and its low on sound recorder to

well this amp volume now is plenty enuff on the microphone input but not on line input

is there something else line level you cand send into the card and record to at least eliminate that it is a soundcard problem?.......

hmm its my amp....i just tested a mike and it went crazy when i talked into it....im young and stupid :0
