I did all the music tracks myself, and through the Artist Collaboration website got an excellent vocal from the other side of the world! I think it turned out fairly well, but it's just the first mix.

Check it out, crank it up, and any comments very much appreciated!

Ahhh...Beatles, outstanding. Great cover. The guitars sound pretty good. The backing vox are first class. This made me smile.

Thanks!

The guitar panned left was not played on a 1959 Gretsch Country Gentleman... but a Jackson Randy Rhodes. I hope to buy a hollowbody axe within a few weeks and I'll redo the guitar then. I also played it with just a pick, not "chickin' pickin' " like the original... I'm learning that technique.

I'm in the process of abandoning my Eddie Van Halen/Yngwie Malmsteen roots and getting into these old retro rock sounds.

The other side of the world doesn't happen to be Cudahy, Wisconsin, does it? You bastard!

This is great, and right up my alley. The vocal is quite good, and the background harmonies are great. You must be learning something from listening to my stuff. :D Sounds like you have a gril sandwiched in there somewhere (not literally). Where'd she come from.

I was gonna say the reverb might be a tad heavy, but it really fits the style.

Nice stuff. And about time. Why the nom de plume?

Nice job and welcome to the good side of the force. It takes a brave man to attempt a Lennon vocal cover. An overlooked gem.

- Wisconsin? The vocal was done by a mysterious stranger, somewhere in the UK...

- I havn't heard your stuff yet, I'll have to look some up!

- "gril sandwiched"? I like grilled cheese sandwiches, dipped in ketchup...

- "nome de plume", my username? I've always been a big Michael Schenker fan. Might change it to Setzerguy now...

Thanks for the positive comments everyone! It's the only payment in my music career... cha-CHING!

"gril sandwiched"?

It's my dislexia surfacing again. Surprisingly it also happened as I was attempting to write ANNA as well, but fortunately no one could tell. :D
I've always been a big Michael Schenker fan.
And that would be Cudahy's other musician??

Yeah, real nice. A buddy of mine has a Jackson. They're the most shredder-looking guitars (especially the ones Randy played - polka dots?), but they seem to be incredibly versatile tone-wise.

I really liked the mix. Everything in the right place and well balanced. Good job.

Dachay, Michael Schenker was a founder of the Scorpions (UFO too?) and is well known among hard rockers born after the 1920's;)

Bee-yoo-tee-full cover,I'm a big Beatles fan and this is a little off the beaten path.Great stuff!

wow...!! this makes the wife dance around the room

gotta get a jackson now!!

Great production, lovely guitar and vox sound:) The vocalist is definitely English though, I can hear the inflections in his voice. (for the benefit of the suspicuous Dachay2tnr:p )

So, it's dancable and has a good beat, would you give it a 7? :D

The drums are from Native Instruments Battery, and I played them from the keyboard in a style pretty close to the original.

Guitar was plugged directly into my Echo Mia soundcard and processed with Amplitube.

There's 4 back vocal tracks, 2 electric guitar, 1 acoustic guitar, a real tambourine and maracca, and even a B3 organ for a pad. And bass of course! All done with Cubase SX.

Yeah, one day my Jackson is filling in for a Gretsch, the next day it's and es-335... I want a hollowbody real bad. My wife says I don't need another guitar!

My wife first begged me to buy a bass pod, then a guitar pod, now she's begging me to buy a steelstring guitar. I love her.

Shall I clone her for you guys? ;)

Liked the song btw, sounds definitely 'pro' ;) in my ears. The vocal is excellent too. He's got that 50's frog in his throat. Cool :)

Yeah, it's a tribute more than a cover. It's really close to the original, and that's good news. You nailed a really good version of the Beatles song. You know, the only thing that's noticeably different from the Beatles song is your voice. Nice.

So, you succeeded in learning how to record a song that sounded like the Beatles. Plus, you've got a good vocal delivery that makes it your own.

Do you do your own stuff as well?

Yeah I do almost exclusively originals, but I was learning that riff from Anna, and just suddenly decided to do a remake!

After 20 years I still can't latch onto any particular style though... I do one original that sounds like a John Cougar rock song, the next one sounds like funky Motown, the next one is like Pink Floyd... I get bored doing the same thing for too long! But it's not like I'm making money from this, it's just about fun and experimentation.

Glad everyone seems to like this!
