ok so I'm returning the Nady 1050 tube mic after about 30 people I let listen to my mp3 comparison voted that the SM58 was a better overall sound

pooh on that

I went out today and got a SHURE KSM27 Condenser Mic $299

and I even got a Behringer 2200 compresser/limiter for $99 (at that price, I had to)

I noticed a difference already with just plugging in the mic right to my pre-amp

the low end was alot warmer and didn't sound as tinny as the nady

I believe I'll stick with this Shure, but I will have to test them with acoustic guitars as well.
