My first try

I just finished my first two songs and they are posted here. Take a listen if you have a chance and tell me what you think.
 
i really like both... i thought the chord sequence in Verion 11 got a bit repetitive. i was ready for a change when the sax solo came in, even something quite subtle would be nice.

Smokey Girl - i really couldn't tell if that was a full drum kit, or just some percussion... either way, it needs to be a lot louder. i think it'd carry the beat much better if it was louder. the sax lines are nice - have you tried anything but parallel harmonies? it'd sound cool if you left it as it was at the start, and then later in the song, developed it a bit more, with maybe the lower line moving down when the upper line was moving up. contrary motion, that's the ticket! :D - and was it meant to end so abruptly? i couldn't tell.

oh! by the way - the profily bit on that site describes you as "Soft instrumental rock and jam/funk rock, sort of a jumble really"

... the voice on Smokey Girl kinda contradicts that, don't you think? :rolleyes: :p

thanks for the comments, and the instrumental music and the jam/funk were meant to be seperate things

and yeah that is how smokey girl is supposed to end
