Hello, eichler... and welcome!

This is a pretty cool tune, but the mix needs a bit of tweaking.
The most noticable thing is that the vocals need to be brought up front. Maybe a little less on the reverb, too.

Secondly, the drums could also stand to come up a little, too.

Everything sounds nice and clear, though... no problems with noise, improper eq'ing or anything like that.

Overall, you're close to having a really good recording here! :)

Hey
I was downloading you song (it took about 15-min so I forget it was on the way) and all the sudden it started playing.
What a treat and nice suprise (that I implemented myself).

Very solid song and mix. I'd agree that the vocal could use a tad crisping up but, I wouldn't sacrifice the reverb or mix too much.

I also found myself waiting for that yearning, bluesy solo git in the arrangment that never came.

As it stands, I trust and respect the arrangment as it is.
Grooving, buttery and smooth song!

Glad I got to listen.

thanks for sharing,

yes! youre almost home.

Very happening mix. I have no complaints about the kick, bass, or any instruments . Its clear you put a lot of work into getting it right and you could also hear what was going on with good speakers.

I like the vocal performance. Very convincing.

THe only thing I can pick at is the vocal. THe sound is pleasing. BUT it sounds like you had a 100% reverb of a small room. THis effect would sound good as chorus but not lead.

I suggest that you make it upfront by using less reverb.
great job.

I like the kind of funkiness going on in there ;). The voacls could do with a boost I suppose but it's not like they get drowed out or anything. I don't mind the reverb too much. Sounded well arranged and mixed, i like the groove, especially the bassline;).

Just listened again and was compelled to comment.
I think I retract my suggestion on "crisping up the vocals". They are fine and so is the rest of this wonderful mix. Very clean and balanced. I get more impressed with each play. Nice work!!

Damn do I suck in comparison.

Wow...loved the instrumentation and excellent vocal performance....first rate all around! Welcome back to the music business:D

Thanks to all for your comments. Looks like I might have to try a few more.

Ya, kill the reverb

I have to agree. The reverb on the vocals isn't right. I personally have trouble getting a good vocal sound too. Anyway, keep it up...it sounds good.
