It's a song by a female contemporary Musical Theatre composer Georgia Stitt.

This is my first attempt at recording with my Tascam US-122mkII and Shure SM58. I think I might have to purchase a condenser as it seems to sound a little flat... will that beef up the vocals?

Beef is not the issue, although I love steak as much as the next guy ;)

Sounds like you are going for that intimate/detailed sound, which a decent condensor could give you. Beware "magic bullet syndrome!" there is no individual piece of gear that can resolve all you probbys!

Go check out this song PoeticIntensity posted a few days back: done using an sm58

with good eq and whatnot, you can get that thing sounding nice, PoeticIntensity did.

I like the piano btw!

oh yeah, welcome!

Lovely piece, very well performed. Sounds like you are not using a pop shield - a few breaths are audible on the mic. The piano sounds a bit artificial to me - I think it needs to sound real, preferably like an upright, a bit of short reverb might help.

You have a lovely voice and I really like this track.

Hi Guys, thanks a lot for your feedback! It was my first attempt and I guess it's a steep learning curve. I need to get myself a pop-shield, I used a DeBreath VST but I'm not sure it's worked very well!

I used Pianoteq for the Piano sound... it's usually very good but there seems to be no middle to the sound! I guess it is just a matter of learning how to EQ things properly.

The link was right at the top bit.ly/thesetwo I couldn't make it a URL though as I hadn't got my 5 posts!

Cheers to Lastdays for reposting.
