Reluctant Commander
COME WITH ME

Simple guitar based rock formula tune, first tune done from scratch with Reaper. Nothing glamorous, but a ton of fun. Also the first tune I ever made up on the guitar, this is as simple as it gets.

Strat + Allums CS3/TS9DX/GE7
Frenzel HBX-WC30
Tone Tubby + EV 2x10
SM7b + Heil PR30
EZ Drummer
Fender Jazz bass
Sonik Synth organ
Reaper

The guitar parts sound EQ constricted to the mids. No transient or bite...which would make the song a lot stronger. The basic pulse is strong; the guitar, providing punctuation, are weak. That Strat should bite , scratch, and kick!

Reminded me of the Allman Bros. Good guitar playing.

Bass part is nice, but I think it's a bit too loud.

Agree that the guitars could use a little more high-mid energy for definition.

Vocal delivery was a little "stilted." Harmonies were pretty.

Pretty good overall.

The guitar is very mid-rangey. On the other hand it doesn't have an obnoxiously overwhelming attack like strats often do, so you've got that going for you.

As TripleM said, your vocal deliver is stilted sometime. I noticed it falling behind on the first stanza.

I think the bass could stand more attack. As loud as it is, and with what you're playing on it, it could be a very dominant, driving voice. The tone you have is much more of a background tone though.

Overall, it's a pretty well-executed song. You've got an interesting vocal tone; I kind of like it!
