My first AI song using SUNO

So I downloaded the SUNO app on my iPhone and I threw some lyrics into it that I wrote the other day just for because I was bored. And I told it to make a song and it came out hilariously. The lyrics are pretty stupid, but the way the AI sings it, with some kind of, How do you say “emotion” is freaking funny as hell.
So here’s the link to the song not sure if it’ll work or not.
I think they just ripped off a Bruce Springsteen song. They must have some kind of preset templates because it only took like five seconds for it to make this.

Wow, funny lyrics aside, that actually sounds pretty good.

I played it in my truck today and yeah it does.
I’m thinking of ways I can use this to turn ideas into more complete songs. I didn’t really give it much of a prompt so I’m gonna try next time to specify in addition to the BPM the chords where the verses and courses and bridges are etc..

Hey Manslick, your backup band is ready to go on tour!

That actually doesn't sound too bad!

Maybe I'm putting way too much effort into this unnecessarily...

Dude, I’m loving this man. I’m trying a new technique. Today I started with some lyrics and I’m adding chords and tempo and a vague description of a song. And as it would seem fashionable, I also got ChatGPT to help me with a prompt.I may already be way down the rabbit hole, but it feels good so I’m gonna do it.

Go for it, I'll be listening with interest.

Another product of SUNO.
So on this one, I started writing lyrics and assign chords to each line without ever actually hearing the cord progression. Yesterday I could not get SUNO to use the chord progression and I tried a lot of different things. A lot of different prompts, but it just must’ve been sick
Just now I used the same prompt I did yesterday and it produced two songs.
I did not ask for two songs.
I haven’t sat down to see if it actually used the chord progression, but I think just based on my couple of hearings that it did use the chord progression, but maybe not all the way through.
I gotta say I am really impressed with this things ability to craft songs.
And like in no time. This is fun and the big curiosity for me right now.
But I’m seeing people who have created thousands of songs and have them on this SUNO site and I’m thinking holy mother, if this blows up exponentially, there will be so much music out there.
I don’t even know what to call it.
I think over saturation is an understatement.
I can’t think of any kind of phenomenon like this that has ever been before.
Well, anyway, here’s the song if you wanna have a listen. Thanks.

Apart from the occaisional odd moment it isn't bad. Obviously the best part of it is the entertaining Manslick lyrics that are doing the heavy lifting. I'm sure this would sound good to the casual listener who will take it at face value and either like the song or not.

It's already hard to get a song heard and I'm pretty sure purely prompt based AI music will make this even harder although I'm starting to see AI creators that are building a following and making money along the way. Who knows how it will go but I do like the progress in AI DAWs.

Incidentally, you should do a prompt version of Rebel Rebel and see how it compares to my Suno Studio version, that would be interesting to hear.

That sounds crazy... it's really getting hard to believe at this point. While I myself would never use AI to write music or words, for those of us who can't sing there way out of a wet paper bag, wouldn't it be cool to hear what a ( even though fake ) GREAT voice could to do our meager home recordings ? Heck the way it's going, in another 5 years I can have Ronnie James Dio sing on one of my bedroom tapes !!! YES !!!!!!!!!!

I have been playing with SUNO this afternoon,
I write a block of verse.
SUNO turns it into a product.
Some good (IMHO), always interesting.
I'm fascinated by the vocal faux.
