Ok, I brought a new band into the studio last weekend and I have listened to the scratch mix to the point that it has tainted my ability to hear what this needs. This is my latest attempt at a mix. What do you guys think it needs? Thanks in advance:)

BTW: over-under mics on the snare is the way to go!!!

Too many other noises in the bass intro. String & pick noise are accepted but what else is going on? Is it speaker flap? Mic prob?
I THINK it might lack a solid bottom end. The bass is welld efined & the bass drum is more click & paper sounding.
What's with all that extra snare rattle at the beginning of the quiet section? Sounds like the rattle you get from a live set up where the bass etc are causing extra rattle.
Sounds pretty good for a scratch mix though.

I think that most of the issues you point out is performance related. The bass was run direct and played with fingers so that caused a flappy sound during the intro. I think the snare noise at the beginning of the softer part is actually light stick hits. The drums were isolated when they were tracked. Thanks for the input. I will go back and take a closer listen to these sections:)
