Hey VI

Listened to the first one, I got Jesus.

Really like the drum sounds you got going there. Loud in the mix to say the least, but nice.

Certainly out of balance - more bass, guitars and vocals.

Work with just the drums and bass for a bit, and add guitars, then vocals. Many approaches. Being submixed drums you don't have as much flexibiity, but it can be done. The cymbals are a touch loud but once you get the rest of the instruments up more, hopefully it will even out.

Your a good drummer! Finally get to hear you on a real drum kit!

nice natural room sound on the drums there. ..that really comes thru. and the harp is distorted just the right amount. nice tunes, and performances. Nothing to really gripe about on that end.

but whoa...some crispy cymbals, hh's.. and some general sizzle just all around. I'd take a lo pass filter with two sugars pleeze...

I'd also take a little more zing in the bass sound too...like the sound that new strings gives ya....or put some of that zing there:)

the songs seem to verge on being a little on the long side(with the exception of the last one, of course)...but these would make the "album" version just fine.

I also hear a little gtr amp buzz here and there.. next time a little gating might be in order...especially noticeable (like most peoples stuff, it seems) on the fades.

two thumbs and a toe up!

Listed to Jesus Luvs You. Ok I'm not a Christian Rock guy. But this song has a real great pop feel to it. At first I thought I was listening to the theme song from 'Friends.'

I liked the the guitar riff. The little bass fills were an excellent tough - though they could have been brought up a bit. The bass player is a keeper.

Maybe the lead vocals could be brought up just a bit and the backing vocals (the "ah's") perhaps retracked so they don't come in quite so hard.

"take me"

this is the only song i've listened to so far, i loved it. i really like the way you sing(very emotional ) it really keep's your attention,
and that make's this song very easy to get into!

thanks for sharing.

peace

I listened to all of them...

I think you got a good sound...

I'm not listening on my monitors...just my home stereo...which tends to make everything sound pretty decent.

All in all I think the overall recording sounds "mid fi"...it doesn't have that sparkle of a pro pop song (or...say, a "third day" band or something)...but it sounds good...

has a nice feel to it. Almost a vintage feel...I like it. Captured a live feel....

I like the tunes...When I first put on "Jesus Luvs You" I felt like the bottom end was a little muddy (kick was a little boomy)....but, I think my ears got used to it. I also have a pretty nice sub here...so, there could have been some low freq. stuff that you might be better off rolling off.

I could see this stuff working as a soundtrack for some blues movie set in the 60s-70s....good stuff man.

Wow, I like it!

"I Got Jesus" was a hell of a good song!;)

Did you track that solo or with your band?

I'm not crazy about the Christian theme, but the song I listened to was excellent! Really rockin, in the style of the '70's hard rock!

I give "I Got Jesus" two thumbs up!
