WOW great color scheme. and very vintage looking, my brother just put together his own SRV replica ill have to post some pics later today.. ill keep ya posted

the cream paint job is nitro..

super thin.

we did a sealer coat, then a primer coat, sanded it almost down to the wood, and then whisper thin nitro....

idea was, to make the least impact on the natural vibe of the wood, and it worked.

Gonzo, that is really sweet.

I bet it would sound kickass through a Pod XT.

:D :D :D :D :D

hehehe
funny guy....

:p

actually, i had sold the XT, in part, to finance the build of this guitar.

never had the chance to try it..

my buddy has a XT Live......maybe i'll hit him up for a little experiment!

How much $$$ do you have in your Strat (if you don't mind me asking) ?

you know, i can't remember the number....

i want to say, the whole thing was just under $800...

i have some files at home, i'll dig up and update this guestimate..

Hey, Gonzo, I assume you assembled the guitar.

When you attached the neck did you just stick it into the neck pocket and screw it on, or did you have to do any shimming?

no shimming.

that was an absolute requirement.

my luthier, left the paint out of the neck pocket...
and we did a minor amount of sanding, to snug it in tight, but without any 'grab'.

my luthier did all the real assembly (i took it back to him after i had played it a bit, and had him do the full copper shielding thing... cavity, back of pickguard, every little bit helps)

i credit USACG for having their stuff together, in terms of the neck pocket having exactly the correct angle for the neck.

also, the luthier for his experience with setting up bridges, and it all went without a hitch.
