my cousin carol singing

hi...

my comments

guitar : yep i reckon it's good. although very similiar sounding to the original. maybe should differentiate with a different rhythm of something.

vocal : has that karaoke effect to me. like it stands on top of the song, instead of blending in with it. i don't know enough about mixing to know how to fix it, but that's how it sounds to me.

drums : a little too busy. are these real drums? they sound kind of fake. but not the drum sounds itself, just the way it's been arranged for some reason.

hope it helps.

Sounds a little muffled. Her voice gets lost in the chorus. I think you want a sharper sound on the voice in my opinion, if it cuts through the mix, I think it will sound more as if its part of the mix.

That's a pretty good cover you put together there!

I am very impressed with the sound quality you achieved overall.

I never got a Karaoke feel from this except for maybe in the drum kit/patch/loop that was used.

The only thing this mix needs is to bring the overall level of the music down about 2 db to leave some room to bring up the vocals in the chorus where it is getting buried by the guitars in the mix.

Bring up her vox in the chorus and you've got a winner there.

I also detected some very low backing vocals at the intro and outro of the song that were too low to be really understood so you might want to either bring them up or loose them completely as they are distracting to the song in their current state.

Nice job!:)

you mean i should not let the voice be on the same level all the way from the beginning to the end? especially on the chorus that all instruments gets hot that i should let the vox bring up too???? i thought thats the way it works? ok whateva you say.

about the background youve heard on the intro. actually, i dont have a vocal booth. i only have 1 room for all my equipments. When we did this one, there are some of my friends watching and they are all too noisy.

About the background on the outro. its the vox with some para-EQ effects. you can barely hear it and ,maybe i should bring them up.
