Hi,

I have brought a new AKG C451B for my guitar Amp - AER Compact Classic Pro recently. I set the mic on a small table stand on the chair, around 2ft over the floor, but, .......... it has been dropped by my wife
It seems ok after a brief testing. My question would be; Can it be damaged in this way? Anyone has those experiences?

Mics can be damaged by the fall, but if you've tested it and it works fine, chances are there's been no damage. Just don't make a habit of dropping it!

Well, of course it CAN be damaged by being dropped. But if it wasn't, then no harm done.

Besides, it still be able to pick a sound, what kind of test can be done?

Thx! it sounds on my guitar amp, is it necessary to do recording? and what kind of sound i should check?

It's the mic that fell, and not the amp - right?

Then test the mic. Record something long enough for the mic to display any strange behavior. Chances are, if something's wrong you'll know right off the bat.
