hey guys
i was just wondering if any of you could check out my band and give honest opinions on the songs. if theyre shit tell us!
the 2 jams im not so bothered about.
forevermore - everything first take but i liked it so it was kept
the corey storey - ditto but i should have redone vocals
spaceness - stream of consciousness recording, need i say more

drums were all done on beatcraft as we have no means of recording our drummer.

but yeah, we'd value your honest opinion
thankyou very much.

er....Are we to guess what the track sounds like or is there a link? :)

I listened to "Forevermore" only, so all these comments apply only to that song.

The first thing I thought was that it reminded me of RHCP, their later stuff anyway, like "Californication," etc.

Umm ... I don't really know how to say this, but you asked for honesty. The singer has simply one of the strangest voices I've ever heard. It's like ... I can't tell if it's a 12-year-old boy, or a 15-year-old girl trying to sound like a 10-year-old boy, or .... I don't know. It's very odd, and it definitely sounds VERY young ... like pre-puberty young. I'm really not trying to be harsh. It's just my honest opinion. I mean I'm really, honestly baffled by the sound of the voice. I have to know how old he is.

Other than that, there were lots of noise issues (buzzing and things like that) in the recording. The verses sound stronger to me than the chorus, and the vocal was really buried in the chorus. Sounds like there is a bit of a tuning issue with the lead guitar---sounds a tad flat.

Other than that, if you're going for that RHCP sound, and it seemed that a few members listed them as an influence, then you're on the right track.

Regarding the vocals, I don't know. It sounds as though he's putting all his sound through his nose maybe. It kind of sounds like someone singing with a really bad cold. Have the singer try singing with his nostrils pinched shut. If his nose is buzzing while he's doing this, then he's putting too much sound through his nose. (You have to put sound through your nose on some consonants, but not on held-out notes.) You should be able to pinch your nose shut and open it without hearing too much difference in the tone.

Anyway, this is just my opinion. Take it for what it's worth.

I listened to Forevermore, i gotta say, its not a bad track, especially for the age of you guys. It just seemed like it was missing something, just seemed like a hollow track to me. You need to get a bit more energy in there, how? You need to work that out by jamming with it a bit more. I thought the bass was pretty good, quite a good player.

There were times when the vocals got louder when the singer got nearer the mic, i think that needs to be sorted out.

Lastly, the guitar solo at about 3:30 into it? sounds a bit..well, crap. not speaking about the actual notes, i mean the actual sound of it, it sounds like its been done on a midi keyboard with pitch bend.

Take all this and work on it, for your ages, you seem to have decent talent, so keep it up! :)

Where does it say their ages? I couldn't find ages anywhere, and, like I said, I'm dying to find out how old the singer is.

hey dudes cheers for all the comments. yeah thats me singing! i'm not the best singer in the world, although that was about 4 months ago and i've been told by more than one person that i'm better than then. but yeah, good and bad comments, we value them, so keep them coming. thanks a lot.

luv from nat! :D x x x x"

yeah 3 of us are 14 and ones 13. good old nat!!! (shame we had to pay her to say that :D )

Forevermore: vocals are a little......Weenish? I'd kill the chorus effect on the clean rhythm guitar and just try to get a nice tone. lead guitar is a little too loud overall. Cool tune though.....nice to hear some kids not striving for a "in" sound.

The Corey Story: funky shit! like some old RHCP stuff. very cool.

anybody care to look, if they havent already. also, for anyone in england, theres gig info on the site.
cheers

your songs are very weak man, it so badly recorded that you can that what is instrument and what is noise and that singing is really weak...

hey dudes

theres 2 more songs on there now - "She Doesn't Know My Name" and "If I Said To You"

Please somebody listen!

Thanks
