youre quite welckome

its a nice natural sound youre getting. very pleasant.

i read bound for glory and loved it too

the main library in downtown san diego had it

i got interested in woody because of the whole bob dylan/woody guthrie connection and song for woody on dylan's first album

i was trying to be the next bob dylan

i had the big bob dylan songbook which i still have. the binding broke and its in many parts now. coffee stains throughout

i still have one of the woody guthrie folkways inserts with all the lyrics. coffee stained and dog-eared.

i wish i had the other one. dust bowl ballads

of course woody turned me on to leadbelly and others taking me back farther toward other roots stuff

Nice tune!

Harvey's suggestion really hit the spot. May I ask what distortion you used, and how? I have used several, some even more subtle than what you did, all the way up to full overblown in-your-face-sonic-assault style. I have never gotten as good of a subtle, yet still significant like you did. Great job. :D

GroovyIsland - It's funny, I've followed a similar path through the same artists. I guess a lot of people have likely done the same.

NL5 - I cloned the original vocal track, then used the Waves AudioTrack plug-in on the "E-guitar_distortion" setting and adjusted the frequencies until I hit what sounded like a relatively sweet spot to my ears. I then mixed the original vocal track and the distorted one to taste. It was a fun little job. Kudos to Harvey again on the excellent recommendation of adding a little distortion.
