she is finally finished.... 2 years of hand sanding and sitting on my lazy arse have finally come to fruition and my baby girl is done!

i have spent the last 2 years on and off (mostly off) working on restoring an old "star" jazz kit, and i promised myself when she was finished i'd post her picture....

anyway now shes done... her name is "penelope" and she sounds twice as good as she looks

perhaps you guys can post some pics of your kits here so we can put some kits to the usernames...

Dr.... nice job. I'm about to embark on the same journey. I have a really old pearl kit that I'm going to refinish. I'm thinking about taking the easy route and doing covering though. Those look to be the same Pearls that I have. Are they Pearl?

the snare is pearl, the rest of the kit is made by a company called "star" which apparntly went on to become tama... i do however have a mid seventies pearl kit aswell, and the are very similar.. infact a few bits and peices from the pearl found there way onto good old penelope here

i am thinking of renovating the pearl kit too, but this time i will go the covering option, not because i want to but beacause when i was 15 i decided to renovate the kit with a sunburst finish... ouch
