umm i have no idea what im doing. so yeah... keep that in mind.

don't listen to the first song. my friend recorded that. listen to "listening to the sounds of a celebrity...."
or any other one beside the first one.

i also have a questoin. how come the guitars don't sound very up close? like they seem far away...? i mean okay lol its hard to explain.
i want it to sound as if the person is playing/singing right in front of me. but it sitll has that crappy "a kid recorded this in his bedroom" sound to it.

if you could just point me to any tutorial on how to help this or anything that would be very helpful.

thanks!!

I liked it a lot! I think you should try panning the backup vocals, alternate them L to R on each pass…that would sound cool! Good job!!

Please give my posts a listen and feedback is greatly appreciated!

haha yeah i've done that with past songs.
i did pan it a little in one ear but i didn't keep switching it.

I'm listening on headphones...

I don't care for the vocals that much to be honest.

The guitar sounds pretty good. What kind of mic did you use to record it, and how far away did you put the mic?

If you want it to sound 'closer' then put the mic closer when recording...or turn the volume up on the guitar track, and down a little on the vocals.

Or duplicate the guitar track, and pan one L and one R, and keep the vocals in the center. This way you can turn the guitar up a little louder without having it 'compete' for space with the vocals too much.

yeah i'm not really concerned withthe vocals. i don't think they're quite amazing.
i used a sm57 into this m-audio thingy then into my computer. i put the mic like ... 3/4foot away? maybe a foot. and yeah i've been trying out the panning stuff.
but with the panning should i put them like a little off from each other to give it the two guitar sound thing? and should i equalize them differently?

thanks for the real answer haha.

oh and the only things i did to the track was add reverb and some of that chorus/flanger stuff.
