Your recording is very good...EQ, mix, sounds. Nice!

One of the really hard things to do playing guitar is to make a clean Strat sound good....that takes disciplined fingers and attention to detail. You did it, and have it. It's not so much what you play, but how you play it. That was a serious strong walk through the tune.....self assured...solid...just like SRV.

You have fundamentals down, comfortably...and even lay on the right wrong notes like the natural 6th on the III- chord, and the natural 4th on the IVmaj7chord...just like Jimmi always did! :^)

And there's strong stuff going on with the arrangement: like the triplet figure at the end with all the instrumants playing it...several pleasing, planned ear-catchers.

Grab some more of those licks. You got something good going on. I'd love to have a guy like you as a student....

This is way cool. You know I really like Brian Setzer The Stray Cats 1980's) you have a similar sound. Keep posting these songs. The is a cause for some points.

Some fine guitar-playing you got here...;)
Mix sounds good to me, drums have kind of vintage feel to them which fits very well with this style. Great performance!

Joey :):):):)

Very nice indeed. Great playing and a great recording!

excellent stuff..I could listen to that guitar for ages.....and I did..thanks

Wow thanks for all the positive feedback! Perhaps I'll keep it just as it is..

Nobody asked me what kind of guitar I used... ;)

...a $99 Squier Affinity Strat..! I wonder if a custom shop relic would sound 50 times as good..?

have you modded it at all? good sound indeed! Im with you as my fave toy at the mo' is a modded bullet I have...not in your playing league though so it still sounds like a modded bullet :)

Wow. The harder thing to do is to make a cheep knockoff sound that good: they tend to be stiff, unresponsive, with whammy bars that throw the works hopelessly out of tune...and crappy electronics and sound.

Bravo!!

Yes I have actually, I always wanted to try GFS stuff so I put a set of their Vintage Hot pickups on, and one of their bridges and tuners and a pickguard.

I like buying the more inexpensive Strats and then having fun modifying them.. I've got a Classic Vibe Strat.. they're nice!

my first guitar was a jap strat back in 1982 :)

the GFS stuffs pretty good huh?..i kept the neck and the body on my bullet and ditched the rest..its got one humbucker anna volume knob...do you really need anything else? ;)

A love that lazy days sound. Makes me feel all is right with the World. Even though I wasn't having a lazy day it (your tune) put me there.

PS: Please use your best guitar for this. I wasn't going to ask what gat you use because that's a bit rude but since you asked I did think during your tune MIM or MIJ at best. But, I wasn't letting that detract from the quality of the playing. Listeners can tell the differences with regards to strats - well, that's sort of the whole idea of strats what with the different woods etc.

Really nice. The whole tune is a journey, and it covers some musical styles and genres...Hell, I think I even heard just a hint of surf guitar in there.

Good mix, nice playing...what more do you want?!?!!?
